Job Description

Located on Cardinal Crescent, this double-storey centre has been custom-designed to meet the evolving learning needs of children six weeks to six years of age.

As you enter our beautiful centre, you’ll find our state-of-the-art chef’s kitchen and culinary lesson space, as well as our parent lounge where families can catch up with each other or with our educators over fresh barista coffee and a baked treat.

Each of our learning hubs is bright and inviting, filled with rich, warm timber resources and innovative educational materials.  Each hub leads out to a wonderful outdoor space, where children can enjoy countless hours of fun on the bike track, in the cubbyhouse or caring for our edible gardens.

Green Leaves Newport offers an approved and funded Kindy program aligned with the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) and Queensland Kindergarten Learning Guideline (QKLG). Our Kindy program is led by a Bachelor-qualified Early Childhood Teacher.

About the Role

  • Be empowered to run an efficient and smooth operation to initially cover maternity leave with ongoing opportunities available for the right applicant
  • Put children and parents first where we take the time to greet everyone and ensure they have the best possible experience with Green Leaves via high-quality tours and orientations
  • Recruit, motivate and inspire a team of passionate educators to best practice 
  • Oversee and guide the highest quality of classroom curriculum and pedagogical documentation 
  • Ensure immaculate Centre presentation within the internal and external play spaces
  • Understand and interpret the relevant industry regulations and legislation, including the National Quality Standards and Early Years Learning Framework/My Time Our Place
  • Build and engage with local communities, creating strong ties and relationships with the community and surrounding networks.

Qualifications

  • Current ACECQA-approved Diploma or Bachelor qualification (Early Childhood)
  • Current Working with Children's Check
  • Current Anaphylaxis, Asthma, CPR and First Aid Certificates
  • Current Child Protection Training
  • Strong understanding of Regulation/Legislation, plus Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) and National Quality Standards (NQS) essential
  • Hands-on experience running a Centre, including effective rostering and wage control, and guiding a large team's performance 
  • Strong team leadership abilities with experience leading, inspiring and developing a team of professional educators
  • Strong knowledge of computer skills, including Qikkids, CCMS, and ISS.
